Introduction
These qualifications are vocationally based and as such, offer the opportunity for learners to demonstrate an achievement of practical skills, understanding and knowledge in and will provide learners with a comprehensive background into the development of solar photovoltaic systems and the supporting information to enable them to progress to employment.
These qualifications also support progression to further learning at Level 6 and beyond.
Who is the qualification designed for?
The learners should have a Level 5 qualification or be in their last year studying at Level 5, in a relevant area and/or a minimum 2 years’ experience of energy or engineering related employment or education or university students who have completed their 2nd year in engineering: electrical, electronics, mechanical, chemical, architect and civil, environment and energy engineering.
Learners who have successfully completed a Level 3 apprenticeship standard in a related area such as Digital Engineering Technician or Engineering Design and Draughts person in a relevant pathway can be considered.
Qualification Aims:
The purpose of these qualifications is to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding required to complete designs in solar photovoltaic systems.
