Introduction

Working Safely is a one-day course for people at any level, in any sector, that will boost business performance and staff motivation. How? Simply by showing how everyone can enhance their safety, health and wellbeing through everyday behaviours. This is a completely different approach to safety and health training: a high-impact programme designed to be fun and inclusive. No jargon, no legalese – just inspirational learning that’s enjoyable, stimulating and effective.

Program Objectives

Working safely provides grounding in the essentials of health and safety. It focuses on why health and safety is important and how individuals can make a real difference to the wellbeing of themselves and others through changing their behavior. Working safely introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training and offers all the basics in a high impact interactive package.

Program Contents

This qualification covers the basics of safety and health principles so after the course, you’ll be able to:
• Carry out a thorough DSE risk assessment.
• Appreciate the impact of users’ behaviour on workstation set-up and use.
• Evaluate your existing DSE assessment process.
• Contribute to your organisation’s policy on DSE assessment.
• Influence decisions on choosing workstation components.

The qualification covers several modules:
• Module 1 – Introducing working safely
• Module 2 – Defining hazard and risk
• Module 3 – Identifying common hazards
• Module 4 – Improving safety performance
• Module 5 – Protecting our environment

Assessment and Certification

For delegates who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments they will receive a certificate of completion from IOSH.

• Examination:
The student is assessed in two sections of the final assessment. They have 2 chances within a 6 month period to do this- if not they will be required to re-register.
Interactive Examination – 33 questions where you must select the correct answer.
Hazard Spotting Assessment – 4 scenarios where you must provide responses to 3 questions within each scenario.

Results are then generated by the course provider.

Target Audience

Working safely is for people at any level, in any sector, needing grounding in the essentials of health & safety. Everyone at work should have an understanding of why the must ‘work safely’ – and this course offers exactly that.

Entry Requirements
No specific requirements are needed in terms of safety knowledge. For the courses that are delivered in English, trainees must meet necessary standards of English language.

Assessment
